IN MEMORIAM Annis Askew was a vital contributor to the Friends beginning in the 1990s. During her long service as a volunteer, she delivered library books to homebound community members, and was an instrumental part of the activities at the Sorting Place donation facility and at the semi-annual book sales. Annis passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 98. She was still actively volunteering into 2025, and she is remembered as an energetic, reliable, and friendly presence. In 2015, the Board of Directors established the Annis Askew Volunteer Award and honored her as its first recipient. The award was created to recognize the long-term contributions of outstanding volunteers, given at the Board's discretion. A plaque containing the names of the recipients is on display at the library. |
